Vibratory screen does compound type spiral vibration by making use of vibrator. The upper rotating heavy hammer of the vibrator enables the screen surface doing plane whirling rotation, while the lower rotating heavy hammer makes the screen surface do beveled rotating vibration. Their combination effect makes the screen surface do compound type spiral vibration.

Its vibration trace is a type of complicated space curve whose projection on the horizontal plane is circular and on the vertical surface is elliptical. Adjusting the exciting force of the upper and lower rotating heavy hammer can change the amplitude. Adjusting their spatial phase angle can change the screen surface’s movement curve shape. In this way, the movement trace of the materials on the screen is also changed.

How to choose the supporting spring of the vibratory screen?

Supporting spring is an important elastic component of vibratory screen. It is not only the master vibration spring but also the isolation spring. So the performance of the supporting spring directly influences the screening efficiency of the vibratory screen.

Rubber spring has good amplitude properties and it is able to bear compressive and shear deformation. Hence, it is widely used in vibrating screen. At present, people usually choose the damping spring according to their own experience, so that the throwing index and vibration trace of the vibration screen cannot meet the requirement. The stiffness of each spring shall be a quarter of the springs’ total stiffness.

Spring index of the vibration screen’s spring is usually 8, the effective coil number is 5, and total coil number is 7. Material of the spring is 60SiMn and its heat treatment hardness shall be HRC-HRC50.

In addition to the rubber spring, the steel spring and composite spring also can be applied. With advantages of easy-manufactured and long service life. The steel spring is widely used. But during the production, steel spring will produce big noise and might result in the drop of the vibration screen and even hurt the operator once it breaks down.

Composite spring is a type of steel spring with a rubber coat. It has the advantages of both steel spring and rubber spring, i.e. long service life, low noise, reliable and safe.

When confirm the stiffness of the spring, the following points shall be considered:
1.    The dynamic load which is transmitted to the foundation by the spring shall not result the vibration of the foundation.
2.    The spring shall have enough bearing value.
3.    The stiffness of the spring is controlled by the adjusting the forced vibration frequency and Self-excited vibration frequency
